The Unopiù Cosette teak folding armchair is a folding armchair made of teak wood with stainless steel fittings from the Cosette collection. The series is lightweight, versatile, and foldable, reimagining the classic director's chair. This design was intended for changing locations; here it is made of teak wood and stainless steel, combining the warmth of teak with the practicality of technical fabric. The collection was designed by the duo Andreucci & Hoisl: Alessandro Andreucci, born in Macerata in 1968, and Christian Hoisl from Munich.

Grade A teak wood

Each tree is selected individually before processing. Only Grade A — the highest quality grade — is used, specifically the middle part of the trunk, which ensures durability and dimensional stability. Mineral salts and oils are naturally contained in teak — the reason why sun, rain, and salt have little effect on it and why pests avoid it. The surface is not treated; Unopiù processes the wood in its natural state. It is therefore normal for individual components to differ in shade, as are fine cracks — neither is considered a defect. Outdoors, the shade turns silver-grey within a few seasons without the supporting structure underneath suffering; those who want to preserve the warm honey shade should use the care products from the manufacturer's range. Dimensions, upholstery and shipping weight

The dimensions are W 59 × D 54 × H 86 cm, seat height 45 cm. This means you sit at table height, upright and with your forearms resting. You can choose the upholstery in two materials and three colors: dove grey in polypropylene, natural white and brown in technical fabric. The shipping weight is 9.8 kg (shipping weight including packaging). At 59 cm wide, it is solid rather than light — the consequence of teak wood and stainless steel.

Care, use and ordering details

According to the manufacturer, place the chair outdoors for 24 to 48 hours before first use: The fibers reactivate and release the oil that has accumulated during storage. After that, it is enough to occasionally wipe the frame with a damp jute or cotton cloth. This makes it suitable as a folding garden chair as well as a teak garden chair at a set table, foldable terrace furniture and foldable balcony furniture, where every centimeter counts.
