Atelier Vierkant Gartenkeramik – handgefertigte Tonkeramik

Collection: Atelier Vierkant

Atelier Vierkant transforms clay into architecture: handcrafted planters, seating stones, and vessels from the Belgian manufactory in Oostende. Each piece is hand-formed, high-fired, and integrally colored – a frost-resistant unique item with a calm, archaic design language for indoor and outdoor use. As a specialist dealer, we carry the complete range and advise you on model, size, and color selection.

What makes Atelier Vierkant special

Craftsmanship instead of mass production: Around twenty master ceramists individually shape each vessel, without casting. As a result, each object has its own surface and slight, intentional deviations in color and structure – proof of genuine handmade quality. The reduced, sculptural style fits into both modern and classic architecture and works equally well as a standalone piece or in groups.

Material & Frost Resistance

The basis is integrally colored clay, which is high-fired. The high firing makes the vessels weather and frost resistant, so they can remain outdoors all year round. Because the color permeates the entire mass (not just applied as a glaze), the character is preserved even with signs of wear.

  • Handcrafted from integrally colored, high-fired clay
  • Frost-resistant and weatherproof – for garden, terrace, and interiors
  • Each piece is unique with a distinctive surface

Colors & Textures – the Selection System

Form, color, and surface can be freely combined. There are nine integrally colored clay tones to choose from – White, Extra White, Nordic White, Grey, New Grey, Blue, Cork, Black, and Red – supplemented by Engobe Top-Colours and texture levels T0 to T16, from smooth to highly textured. This allows each vessel to be tailored to the project and environment. We can provide you with the complete color and texture chart upon request.

Shapes & Models

The range extends from tall, columnar planters and round and conical bowls to seating stones, benches, and Clay Tables. Well-known model series include the RVC design series by Roel Vandebeek, as well as numerous cube, cylinder, and bowl shapes in several sizes. Many models are available in staggered heights – from balcony size to room-defining solitaire sizes.

Finding the Right Size

As a rule of thumb: a vessel looks best when it is in proportion to the plant and the location – large solitaire plants and representative entrances can accommodate consciously large formats. For each model, you will find dimensions (diameter or width, height, and weight) directly on the product page. We would be happy to advise you personally on the composition of entire plantings or groups.

Care & Placement

Easy to clean and durable: Clean the surface with water and a soft brush; do not use abrasive cleaners. For permanent outdoor use, we recommend good drainage and slightly elevated placement (e.g., on feet or castors) to prevent waterlogging. Castors and suitable accessories are part of the program.

Order, Delivery Time & Consultation

Many Atelier Vierkant pieces are manufactured by hand; delivery time is typically around eight weeks, depending on the model and finish. For color/texture selection, special formats, and project quantities, we will provide you with an individual offer – simply use the inquiry form on the respective product page.
