The Atelier Vierkant MR Vase is a handcrafted ceramic vase made from Italian clay, featuring a classic, bulbous shape and a gently brushed finish. The specialized high-temperature firing makes the vessel completely frost-resistant—for year-round outdoor use.

The series ranges from the MR65, with a diameter of 49 cm and a height of 65 cm, to the MR130, with a diameter of 115 cm, a height of 130 cm, a weight of 250 kg, and a volume of 590 liters. The low center of gravity makes the vases extremely stable—ideal for standard-grown shrubs and small trees; the clay regulates moisture and provides thermal protection for the roots.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes are available for the MR Vase?
The MR series includes four sizes: MR65 (49 × 65 cm, 61 l), MR80 (57 × 76 cm, 104 l), MR90 (80 × 90 cm, 265 l), and MR130 (115 × 130 cm, 590 l).

Is the MR Vase frost-resistant?
Yes, thanks to the specialized high-temperature firing, the MR Vase is completely frost-resistant and can remain outdoors planted year-round. If the vessel is placed on a saucer, make sure that no water collects in it before winter: If it freezes, the vessel resting on it can become frozen in the ice and may be damaged when removed. Therefore, empty the saucer before the first frost.

How stable is the MR Vase?
The rounded shape ensures a low center of gravity; with an own weight of up to 250 kg, the vase can also withstand high wind loads in exposed locations.

Why is the clay good for plants?
The clay acts through capillary action: It stores excess moisture, releases it gradually during dry periods, and protects the root system from overheating with its thick walls.
