Unopiù Shibuya – Ferruccio Laviani's movable design pergola that redefines what a garden pavilion can be.
The Shibuya is not a classic pavilion that is set up once and never moved again. It consists of two cubic units that can be moved against each other – to provide more or less shade, to adjust the angle to the sun's position, or to create a complete enclosure from two compact units. A concept that fundamentally rethinks the flexibility of the pergola: mobile, modular, uncompromising in design.
The frame is made of galvanized, powder-coated aluminum – matte white or matte graphite gray – making it permanently weather-resistant and low-maintenance. Three options are available for the roofing: micro-perforated fabric in natural white for gentle light filtering, Bangkirai-colored wooden slats for a warm natural look, or bamboo mats for an organic, tropical character. Each variant can be retrofitted independently of the basic frame.
Optional wheels (Ø 10 cm) are available, making the Shibuya freely movable on paved surfaces – from the sunny breakfast position in the morning to the shady relaxation corner in the afternoon. For permanent placement, post shoes for ground mounting and profiles for attachment to balustrades and railings are available. An optional extension module (272.5×266 cm) doubles the usable area to 538.5×266 cm.
The Shibuya is part of the pavilion and pergola range at Garten-Stuhl and the entire Unopiù range. The matching Shibuya extension module is available separately.

Frequently asked questions about Unopiù Shibuya
What makes the Shibuya a "movable" pergola?
The Shibuya consists of two cubic units that can be moved against each other – this allows for flexible adjustment of shading and privacy. With optional wheels (Ø 10 cm), the entire construction can be freely repositioned on paved surfaces such as terraces or roof gardens. For permanent stability, ground mounting with a post shoe is also possible.
What roofing options are available?
Three options are available: micro-perforated fabric in natural white (gentle light filtering), Bangkirai-colored wooden slats (natural warmth), and bamboo mats (organic, tropical character). All roofings can be selected as a variant and can also be added later. Without roofing, the Shibuya can be used as a pure privacy screen and spatial structure element.
Can the Shibuya be extended?
Yes. The separate extension module (272.5×266×252.5 cm) connects directly to the basic model and increases the usable width to a total of 538.5 cm. It is available in the same frame and roofing variants and can be ordered directly as a variant with the basic model or purchased separately.
Who is the designer of the Shibuya?
The Shibuya was designed by Ferruccio Laviani – one of the most renowned Milanese designers, known for his work for brands such as Kartell and Flos. The cubic design language and the sliding concept are his creative signature: functional, minimalist, and unmistakable.
