Royal Botania was founded in Belgium in 1992 by Kris Van Puyvelde and Frank Boschman; it is based in Nijlen. Since 2002, the company has manufactured in its own factory in Thailand and has managed its own teak plantation there since 2011.

The range includes outdoor furniture, outdoor lighting, parasols, planters, rugs and care products. In addition to teak, Royal Botania works with aluminium, stainless steel, ceramic and concrete; the company holds a patent for the frame-flush enclosure of Batyline fabric. The collections are designed by Kris Van Puyvelde.
