• Products should be unpacked immediately upon receipt to prevent moisture from accumulating between the packaging and the product. This can lead to uneven rust spots.
• Ensure good drainage
• Do not use an overflow pipe; no excess water should remain in the Corten steel planter. The combination of oxygen and soil could then cause the material to rust through.
• Do not use hydro pellets: they retain moisture.
• The products come without a layer of rust. The rusting process on Corten steel takes about 4-5 months, depending on the weather conditions. With our rust accelerator, you can let the planters rust faster.
• During the rusting process, rust water can be released from the product.
• Rust can be removed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating rust inhibitor that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects the panel and prevents the Corten steel from discolouring.
• We advise against using Corten steel within 2 km of the coast.

planting tips

• Cover the bottom with a layer of Ø35 mm pebbles (approx. 10 cm).
• Place a permeable anti-root cloth over the pebbles.
• Cover the anti-root cloth with soil suitable for your desired type of planting.
