Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: the weather conditions have a positive influence on this planter. Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium are added. When the material is exposed to the outside air, it becomes covered over time with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. This gives the planter a long lifespan.

·Products should be unpacked immediately upon receipt to prevent moisture from accumulating between the packaging and the product. This can lead to uneven rust spots.

·Ensure good drainage

·Do not use an overflow pipe; no excess water should remain in the Corten steel planter. The combination of oxygen and soil could then cause the material to rust through.

·Do not use hydro pellets: they retain moisture.

·We advise against using Corten steel within 2 km of the coast.
