Proper Care for Cane-line Materials – The Guide
Weatherproof and easy to care for – Cane-line materials
Cane-line develops its outdoor furniture for year-round outdoor use. The materials are UV and weather resistant and easy to care for. Here you can find out how to keep each material clean and beautiful for a long time.
Cane-line Soft Rope
Cane-line Soft Rope is a braided rope made of selected polypropylene with a soft, fabric-like surface. It withstands sun, rain and wind without fading or fraying. Cleaning: wash with lukewarm water, a mild detergent and a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
Cane-line Weave
Cane-line Weave (also Flat Weave) is a high-quality, woven synthetic fiber weave – usually on an aluminum frame, particularly weather-resistant and dimensionally stable. Care as with Soft Rope: water, mild detergent, soft brush; no high-pressure cleaner.
AirTouch cushions with QuickDryFoam® and Airflow
Many Cane-line cushions use QuickDryFoam® with an open-pored, antimicrobial treated structure and the Airflow system. Rainwater drains quickly, the cushions are dry again about an hour after the rain, and constant air circulation prevents mold – the cushions can remain outdoors in most weather conditions. Clean covers according to care label.
Cushion covers: Natté, Wove, Rise & Co.
The outdoor cover fabrics (including Cane-line Natté, Wove, Rise, Link) are UV-resistant and dirt-repellent. Clean with lukewarm water and mild soap; treat stains promptly. Wash covers only according to label.
Teak
Some Cane-line series combine the weaves with teak wood. Teak naturally grays outdoors to a silvery patina – a purely optical process. If you want to maintain the warm golden tone, oil it once or twice per season with teak oil. Detailed information can be found in the Teak Wood Care Guide.
Aluminum frames
The powder-coated aluminum frames are rust-free and particularly easy to care for: simply wipe with water and a mild cleaner. If necessary, a thin layer of polish provides additional protection for the surface.
Winter storage and covering
Cane-line furniture is weather and frost resistant and can remain outdoors all year round. Ideally, it should be protected under a covered terrace, a carport or an awning. If a protective cover is used, it should be breathable and occasionally lifted so that no condensation forms under the cover and air can circulate.
Basic care rules
- Water, mild detergent, soft brush – no high-pressure cleaners.
- No solvents, abrasive or chlorine-containing agents.
- Treat stains promptly; rinse thoroughly after cleaning.
- When covered, ensure air circulation (avoid condensation).
Frequently asked questions
Can the cushions stay outside?
Thanks to QuickDryFoam® and Airflow, the cushions dry quickly and are mold-resistant – they can remain outside in most conditions. However, for long periods of rain or winter, we recommend a protected place or a breathable cover.
Does Soft Rope or Weave fade?
No, the materials are UV-resistant and retain their color and shape; they do not fade or fray.
Is the furniture winter-proof?
Yes. Weave, aluminum and teak are frost and weather resistant; an ideal location is a covered area or a breathable cover with air circulation.
