The Unopiù Salento – an awning parasol that combines shade and wind protection in one elegant system.
The Salento by Unopiù is more than just a parasol: its special feature is the extendable awning, which is attached to the side of the parasol and provides additional protection from low-lying sun or light wind when needed. When not in use, it disappears into a space-saving side compartment – the view of the garden remains unobstructed, and the space beneath remains clear.
The frame of the offset pole is made of galvanized aluminum combined with iroko slatted wood – one of the most durable tropical hardwoods, known for its resistance to weather and insects. The extendable arms of the awning are made of aluminum, and the cover is made of 100% Tempotest acrylic fabric: natural colored for the bronze-colored parasol, white for the white model.
The adjustable incline of the awning (5–20 degrees) adapts to the position of the sun. The parasol is wind-stable up to 45 km/h – at higher wind speeds, Unopiù recommends closing the awning. There are two options for stability: 10 optional concrete slab weights (50×50 cm, approx. 18 kg each) or ground mounting with anchors through the holes in the frame. The slab surface also offers space for flower pots or planters.
The Salento complements the range of parasols at Garten-Stuhl and is part of the entire Unopiù range. Suitable parasol accessories such as concrete slabs can be selected directly as a variant.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Unopiù Salento (Hand Crank)
What is the difference between Salento with a hand crank and electric?
With the hand-cranked model, the awning is extended and retracted manually using a crank and rope pull. The electric model also has a motor with a remote control – but can also be operated manually. Both models have identical dimensions and materials.
How is the Salento secured to the ground?
There are two options: The 10 optional concrete slabs (50×50 cm, approx. 18 kg each) increase the stand's total weight to approx. 180 kg. Alternatively, the parasol can be anchored directly to the ground with anchors through holes in the frame.
What wood is the frame made of?
The offset pole is made of galvanized aluminum combined with iroko slatted wood – a tropical hardwood known for its exceptional weather resistance and durability. Iroko is considered an alternative to teak wood.
What wind speed can the Salento withstand?
The Salento awning is wind-stable up to 45 km/h. At higher wind speeds, Unopiù recommends retracting the awning to prevent damage. The parasol itself (without an extended awning) is very stable due to its high inherent weight of 135 kg.
