- Clean the sail: Wipe the sail fabric with water and mild soapy water. Do not use aggressive cleaners – they attack the UV protection of the fabric.
- Drying: Store the sail completely dry or rolled up – moisture promotes mold growth in the fabric.
- Wipe posts: Regularly clean the aluminum posts with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the powder coating.
- Check tension: Annually check the sail tension and attachment points. Loose sails can flap in the wind and cause damage.
- Wind: In strong winds (storms), roll up or remove the sail. Taut sails can be damaged by extreme wind loads.
