Some collections immediately make a statement. Unopiù's Coco is one of them. Designed by Andrea Andretta, it combines industrial precision with artisanal texture – powder-coated steel with hand-woven polypropylene rope. The result is an outdoor furniture collection that is both architecturally impressive and sensually appealing.
Material as a Design Element
The frame of the Coco collection is made of galvanized, powder-coated steel – in graphite grey or syrah red. Both colors are uncompromising: graphite recedes, letting the rope speak. Syrah sets a deliberate accent that harmonizes with Mediterranean terracotta and natural colors.
The rope is hand-woven, made of weather-resistant polypropylene, available in three colors: Sand (Ecru), Marsala, and Fondant. The woven structure is not decorative – it is constructive. It distributes weight evenly, yields, and returns. Ergonomics through material.
Collection Overview
Coco is designed as a system. From the garden chair with armrests (W 60 × D 60 × H 88 cm, seat height 46 cm) to the lounge chair with a wide, deep seat (W 68 × D 77 × H 77 cm) and the sun lounger – all pieces share the same material language and can be combined without repetition.
The lounge chair is the centerpiece of the collection. Its elastic rope construction adapts to the body – without cushions or padding. The sun lounger complements the system for pool and patio areas; it can optionally be combined with a cushion.
Application and Context
Coco is designed for continuous outdoor use – on private terraces as well as in hotels, restaurants, and resorts. The materials are UV-resistant, weather-resistant, and easy to care for. The construction is robust enough for professional use, formally precise enough for private demands.
