Lava rock is a natural product. It forms when lava from a volcano solidifies and turns into stone. This process occurs naturally during volcanic eruptions. Lava rock has the characteristic that when the lava flows from the volcano, it carries away everything in its path—paper, iron, and any other material it encounters is absorbed into the lava. When the lava rock is subsequently quarried, it is impossible to see what is contained within it. The "green spots" are pieces of iron in the stone that turn green when baked in an oven at 950°C. Green spots are not a defect and do not cause any problems over time. The spot will not spread or anything like that.
